To know whether the mobile is genuine or not, you don’t need to install or download any kind of software. It is just some information, while buying a new mobile every individual should keep in mind. It will be much better for you, if you wrote it down or learn the process, so that you can differentiate the original brand and the copied / fake brand easily. How to check your mobile is original or not

Note down the below points before going to market for purchasing a new mobile phone for your self or for any of your family member:

  • In the first step, you must check the IMEI ( International Mobile Equipment Identity) number of the mobile phone by dialing the code “*#06#” from the mobile you purchased.
  • You will get a 15-digit number and can also be found in the packet of the mobile phone.
  • You can also check the IMEI number by removing the back cover, you will find it out on the battery sticker.
  • The format of IMEI number might be as below:

  • Now look at the 7th and 8th digit of the IMEI number because these two are the digits which will ensure you the quality of the Mobile Phone you are going to purchase.
  • If the 7th and 8th digits are 00 then, this is the indication that the cell has been manufactured in Original Factory and will ensure you that the mobile phone is of the best quality.
  • If the 7th and 8th digits are 01 or 10 then, this is the indication that the cell phone has been manufactured in Finland and ensure you that the mobile phone is with high quality.
  • If the 7th and 8th digits are 13 then, this is the indication that the cell phone is assembled in Azerbaijan and ensure you that the quality of the mobile phone is of very low quality and can be dangerous for your health too.
  • If the 7th and 8th digits are 02 or 20 then, this is the indication that the cell phone is assembled in Emirates and the quality of the mobile phone is very poor. This kind of IMEI numbers can widely be seen on Indian Sets.
  • If the 7th and 8th digits are 03 / 30 or 04 / 40 then, this is the indication that the cell phone has been manufactured in China but the quality of mobile phone is good. You can purchase it but you cannot compete it with the quality of the sets with digits 00, 01 or 10.
  • If the 7th and 8th digits are 05 or 50 then, this is the indication that the cell phone has been manufactured in Brazil / USA or Finland.
  • If the 7th and 8th digits are 06 or 60 then, this is the indication that the cell phone has been manufactured either in Hong Kong / China or Mexico.
  • If the 7th and 8th digits are 05 or 50 then, this is the indication that the cell phone has been manufactured in Brazil / USA or Finland.
  • If the 7th and 8th digits are 08 or 80 then, this is the indication that the cell phone has been manufactured in Germany and is of fair quality.
